Sometimes loose side reins are advantageous when lunging or long-reining with our Training Band Sytems.
Although it is recommended to allow complete freedom of the head so the horse can find their own balance and stretch down naturally, in some instances horses may prefer a contact to work into and thus loose side reins can be used. Similarly, if the horse is green in its schooling and has a high head carriage, loose side reins help encourage lowering of the head and working correctly over the back.
